KCVL and Surrey Slam announce revamped competitions for the Men's and Women's game

It was good to see men in white once more playing on the Outwood ground. Three friendly games were played over the weekend, with an all Outwood XXII playing out an intra club match on Saturday, and our Sunday men's teams playing Horley Sunday teams home and away.

This week we can announce the imminent restart of competitive cricket. All three competitions have been impacted by COVID, but competition organisers have created three leagues designed to max out the time left to us to play this summer and give clubs a chance to play in a competition environment.

Our men's 1st & 2nd XI will play red ball cricket in a revised KCVL Teir 1A (for the 1sts) and KCVL Teir 4A (for the 2nd XI). The leagues are smaller allowing home and away fixtures, which culminate with a knockout tournament towards the end of the season. The season starts on 25 July.

Our men's and women's Slam teams, the Outlaws and Blazes are playing in a revised tournament, which pits sides in mini league made up of local teams. The season starts for the Outlaws on 22 July at home against Horely from 6pm and for the Blazes on 26 July starting at 9.30am.

The club has decided not to re-enter the NVC at this late stage to the season. NVC matches are scheduled for Sundays and would have impacted upon our social cricketers too much.

Fixtures will be posted on the club website over the next few days.

A reminder that full match scorecards and player stats can be found on our Outwood Play-Cricket website
